Let’s Ride
5th tonight in Daegu, 13.16. <–Not. Hot. Think I ran faster in daycare. But on the plus, I’m healthy & my event is about rhythm & I can only establish that by racing. You can’t be scared to get out there and line up, regardless of where the other girls are. And you can’t have one result question the good path you’re on. And not everything needs dissecting to be honest, you just get your ass on the plane, go home, truck on & fire up that barbie, if you must.
I’m heading back with a good sense of what we need to do in training thanks to these races. Tonight was technically a gong show–but hey nothing I can’t fix with repetition or haven’t done a million times before (fabulously might I add! :)
I face a double headed dragon in having to fix things technically, but also having to regain conditioning. But is it crazy that I’m ok with that?…That I’m actually enjoying it?! #weirdo. I guess unshakable faith in knowing you will get to where you need to be leaves everything that happens in the process sorta OK with me. Doesn’t mean I love it all, but I can patiently accept.
People stop short because they focus on the work ahead of them. I won’t stop because I’ve looked back and seen how far I’ve come.
Take Care & thanks for taking this journey with me.
Let’s Ride!

Daegu Race (Lane 5)

What I admire about you is that you’re the kind of athlete that shares your triumphs with us, which is pretty easy, and you also share the parts of your job that aren’t always so glamorous or triumphant. which is not so easy. Not many athletes keep things so honest at all times. I’ll always root for you, you make me proud to be Canadian. Go get ‘em in London kid!
Pretty great post. I simply stumbled upon your
weblog and wanted to say that I’ve truly enjoyed browsing your blog posts. After all I will be subscribing to your rss feed and I hope you write again soon!
Hey Perdita,
It is early in the year. You don’t want to peak early so I think you are doing fine.
Look forward to London 2012
Keep on smiling
