I’ve been involved in sport since I was nine years old and have learned many lessons along the way. My story is not yet over, but many have allowed me to share it up until this point. The world has seen me triumph and become a World Champion in 2003 and it has also seen me fall short on sports biggest stage at the 2004 Athens Olympics. While that moment will always be one of the hardest of my life it has not dampened my motivation. Despite the many challenges I have faced the hunger to pursue my dream of sporting excellence and Olympic glory still lives strong, and it is always a pleasure to tell others why.
I’m not a shy storyteller and speak my truth honestly and passionately, which is the only way I know how to tell it. Whether I am talking to a room filled with powerful executives or a school gymnasium full of the next generation, my messages of perseverance, personal excellence, and being true to yourself are relevant for all.
I can share my own journey, but I also find parallels and tailor my presentation to an organization’s theme. From inspiring staff to impact their company and realize they can make a difference, to showing teens how to out last or engaging and motivating a workforce to approach their projects like it is an Olympic final!
